Application for Polish Bank

Application for Polish Bank
Timeline: 10 month
Year: 2021
Role: UX/UI Designer

The Project

For this project, I designed a comprehensive mobile and web application for a Polish banking institution. The goal was to create a user-friendly and seamless digital banking experience for both new and existing customers. The application aimed to provide a wide range of banking services, including account management, payments, transfers, savings, and personalized financial insights, all while adhering to the strict security and compliance standards of the banking industry.

Process

A research of the competitive environment has been carried out. A customer journey map has been compiled and low-frequency prototypes have been worked out. The details of design have been picked up based on the research. A design layout of the interface has been worked out using a modular grid and composition rules.

Research & Discovery: I began the project by conducting in-depth research to understand the target audience, their needs, and pain points in their banking experiences. This involved user interviews, competitor analysis, and market research.

Information Architecture & Wireframing: I focused on creating a clear and intuitive information architecture, organizing the application's structure, and creating wireframes to outline the key user flows and interactions.

Prototyping & Iteration: Through rapid prototyping, I developed interactive mockups and conducted usability testing to gather valuable feedback. This iterative process helped refine the design and address any usability issues early on.

Visual Design & Branding: With a strong focus on the Polish banking institution's branding guidelines, I designed a visually appealing interface that exuded trust, security, and modernity, aligning it with the overall brand identity.

Challenges

The challenge was to create a comprehensible interface and simplify the work with the application.

Security & Compliance: One of the significant challenges was ensuring the application met the strict security and compliance requirements of the banking industry, while still providing a smooth user experience.

Cross-platform Consistency: Balancing the design and user experience between the mobile and web platforms posed a challenge, as it required making design decisions that worked effectively across different screen sizes and interaction patterns.

Personalization: Implementing personalized financial insights while respecting user privacy was a delicate balancing act. Striking the right balance between personalization and data security was a key challenge.

Accessibility: Ensuring that the application was accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, required careful attention to accessibility guidelines and thorough testing.

Achievements

Understanding of the work with a bank account. Providing the customers with a wide range of opportunities for finance analysis for a certain period. Additionally, a design of a web application was elaborated for involvement of users who find it more convenient to work with the desktop application.
